Waiting for a Superman

I don’t know the first thing about graphic novels. I don’t even know if you’re supposed to call them that, or whether they’re comic books, or whether those things are one and the same thing or not. What I do know, however, is that now seems to be the time to shine for comic book/graphic novel superheroes in other media, with a whole load of superhero themed films and videogames having been released over the last ten or so years. George Shepherd’s quest is finally over, and though I promised to explain my thoughts on ME3′s ending and the game in general on this week’s blog, I wound up splurging out pretty much every Mass Effect related thought in my head for three and a half hours with the Manatank crew on a podcast on Friday. In summary: great game, despite a few flaws (the odd moment of repetitive combat, unnecessary multiplayer, dim reinvention of the resource mining mechanic), and I like the ending, although it could have been better handled in a number of ways.
